In Jesper we trust

The titan on the Swedish metal scene, Jesper Strömblad, was born on November 28, 1972. His journey in the work of music began early, at the age of 4. Jesper played the violin until age 12, when he no longer considered the violin a “cool” instrument to play and began playing guitar instead. He would go on to become one of the most influential figures in the melodic death metal genre.

His passion and skill as a guitarist led him to found the band In Flames in 1990, a name that would become synonymous with the genre and inspire countless other artists around the world. Under Strömblad´s leadership, In Flames grew and the band’s music became known for its powerful combination of brutal rhythms and melodic elements. During the 20 years he was with the band Strömblad became not just a leader but also a visionary who helped shape the sound of modern metal. 

“In Jesper We Trust” has become a known statement and a recurring chant whenever he is in the public. 

Although In Flames has been the longest endeavor in Jespers career he has been busy creating music and playing under other flags such as Dimension Zero, Hammerfall, The Resistance, Sinergy, Ceremonial Oath, Nightrage and more recently 2 bands of which he is a founding member, Cyhra and The Halo Effect. 

All mentioned bands are testaments of Jespers innate ability to write songs and create powerful riffs and melodies that resonate with the listeners. With a guitar in his hands he simply becomes a wizard of creating music. 

On a personal level Jesper has been very open about his addiction problem and explains that it is a constant battle that he is dead set on winning. -”If me being open about my journey can help someone else, it is definitely worth it, Jesper says”. 

At this moment Jesper is active in the two bands he also co-founded, Cyhra and The Halo effect.
